Chain Register

What is Chain Register ? 

1. It is a Register of lifting appliances & items of loose gear. 

2. It is a requirement as per ILO Convention 152 i.e. Convention concerning occupational safety & health in Dock Work, 1979. 

 Content of Chain Register:-

 Part I: Initial & periodical load test of lifting appliances & their annual thorough examinations. 

 Part II: Initial & periodical load test of loose gears & annual thorough examination. 

 Part III: Annealing of chains, hooks, rings, shackles and swivels.
